New sand removal system to effectively protect the pump to reduce pump failure

American Pump Tools Inc. introduced a SandCat system that separates sand from well fluids containing sand wells and reduces pump failures without pumping them in. It is a centrifugal downhole desander installed below the pump, which allows the sand to be separated from the well fluid and allows only the well fluid to enter the pump, eliminating the need for sand filters or gravel pack completions. It is suitable for Any ESP submersible well. The sand control system includes a set of computer software to demonstrate well removal of sand per well, which can be used in any ESP submersible well with a daily output of up to 1,400 tons and a casing diameter of 140-244 mm. The software can be used by the well engineer to calculate the effect of grit removal on each well and how best to remove grit and choose the best grit removal method. The tool can be used to remove the sand before it enters the pump. The sand is then collected by the tailpipe or into the pocket below the perforated strip and removed after workover. It has 4 different downhole methods to optimize sand removal management for sand wells.
